Carriage Mounted Spreader Bar - As the name implies, this particular mast comprises 3 sections. The outer part mounts firmly to the lift truck. The next intermediate section telescopes within the outside section. The innermost part telescopes inside of the middle part. The internal section and the middle part both elevate as the lift cylinders lengthen. Once again in this model, the fork carriage rides in the internal part. The 3 stage mast provides a shorter lowered height as opposed to the 2 stage mast. The common usage of the 3 stage mast is in areas such as doorways where overhead clearances are restricted. This particular mast is often outfitted with a center cylinder so as to let the fork carriage elevate a few distance before the mast sections commence extension.
There are two main sections in a 2 Stage Mast. The external part of the mast is connected to the lift vehicle. The inner part sits inside the outer part and elevates when the cylinders lengthen. The fork carriage is actually situated within the inner part. This particular mast type has a taller lowered height as opposed to an equivalent 3 stage mast or lift height quad mast.
